Process and Criteria

Any child between the ages of 2.5 and 4 years who is toilet-trained and able to leave the primary adult without difficulty may be eligible for admission to the Primary class. Preference will be given to children under 3.5 years old. Children may be admitted at any time during the year up to spring break (April) when there is a vacancy for their age group. Five year-olds with Montessori experience are admitted on a limited basis.

Priority admission will be given to Church of Good Shepherd children, siblings of students continuing at Good Shepherd Montessori and Alumni children.

Good Shepherd Montessori does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, gender, national origin, age, or disability.

Admissions Process

  • Prospective families look over the school website or request information through email or phone call.
  • Prospective parents make an appointment to tour the school, (adults only; infants may be with parent(s).
  • After a tour, a registration for admission may be submitted, together with a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee.
  • After current family re-enrollment is completed in March, applications in the wait pool are reviewed.
  • Spaces will be determined by the need to balance classes by age and gender. If a space is available parents will be notified.
  • Families of accepted students execute an enrollment contract with GSM. A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 (credited to tuition) is due upon acceptance, no later than May.

An enrollment packet is mailed to new parents in August, along with the September tuition statement (less the tuition deposit) and any required forms are also included in this packet. All required forms must be completed and returned to the school office prior to the school beginning.
